Choosing a Retirement Village That Fits You, Not the Other Way Around

When you start thinking about retirement living, it is easy to imagine you'll need to compromise. Moving into a smaller home, giving up the space you're used to, or adjusting your lifestyle to fit a new environment.

At Longridge Country Estate, retirement living is different. Instead of moving into a small unit or giving up your space, you'll find villas that are practical, spacious and designed for everyday living. Each of our villas has an open layout, a private garden and plenty of room to live comfortably and independently.

Even our two-bedroom villas have bright, easy-to-live-in spaces, complete with a study area and an open-plan kitchen and lounge. If you are looking for extra space, our three-bedroom villas go up to 180 square metres in size. View our brand new 3 bedroom Pohutukawa Villa here.

Many of our residents tell us they were surprised by how much space they gained when they moved to Longridge. Instead of downsizing their lives, they found homes with modern kitchens, wide hallways, level thresholds, easy-care gardens and open-plan living areas that make everyday life comfortable and easy.

They also often mention how open and welcoming Longridge feels. Wide streets, green gardens, and beautiful views of the Coromandel Ranges create a real sense of freedom. It's the kind of place where you can take a morning walk, stop for a chat with a neighbour, or relax on your patio with a coffee and enjoy the fresh air.

Our villas are built for real living, not squeezing. You won't find compact units or tiny apartments here. Each of our villas is laid out for practical, easy everyday living, with level entries, wide hallways and easy-care gardens that allow you to spend more time doing the things you enjoy.

Longridge is set across 90 acres of countryside, giving our village room to breathe. It's not just our villas that feel spacious, but the entire environment. Many of our residents have moved from Auckland, finding that Longridge offers not only more space, but a better lifestyle at a lower cost than staying in the city.

You can also find answers to common questions in our FAQs.

For those considering a move, our villas start from $729,000 for a two-bedroom option with a study, with larger three-bedroom homes available up to $1,149,000. Weekly village fees are currently $149, and for residents aged 75 and over, the weekly fee is fixed for life. This helps give certainty and peace of mind about future living costs.

Choosing your next home is about more than just the floorplan. It is about finding a community and a lifestyle that feels right for you. Whether you are an avid gardener, a keen entertainer, or looking for a peaceful place to settle, there is a home at Longridge that suits the way you want to live.
