“Thought You Weren’t the Retirement Village Type?”

A lot of people who move to Longridge say the same thing:
“We didn’t think a retirement village would be for us.”
They pictured tiny homes crammed together.
Too many rules. Too many strangers. Too soon.
And a lot of villages can be like that.
Too many rules. Homes that feel more like units.
It’s not how many people imagine independent living.
That’s exactly why Longridge was built differently. It doesn’t feel like a retirement village, and you’ll see that the moment you arrive.

It Doesn’t Feel Like a Village Because It’s Not Built Like One
Longridge is set over 90 acres, with wide roads and space between homes. No shared walls. No unit blocks. No corridors. It’s built like a residential subdivision, not a typical village.
You get your own house, with a garden, lawn, patio, indoor-outdoor flow, and plenty of room to spread out. Most of our villas include a study, generous storage, and your choice of single or double garage.
There is a strong community here and plenty happening if you want to get involved. It’s your life, not a schedule. No one is expected to join in if they do not want to.

Room to Move and Room to Be Left Alone
You also get privacy.
This is not a place where you are crammed in or watched over. You have space to live the way you want, and the freedom to be left alone when you choose to be.
Built for Independence, Not Dependence
You don’t lose control when you move to Longridge. You just lose the jobs you’re over. Lawns? Sorted. Gutters? Not your problem.
Exterior House maintenance Taken care of.
Council rates, water rates, insurance, all covered by one weekly fee.
That means more time for what you actually want to do.
Travel. Lock up and leave, we'll look after the gardens and lawns while your away.
Host the grandkids. Nap after lunch. Whatever you like.
Our Villas are single-level, spacious, warm, and cleverly designed with emergency call buttons, security systems, and future-ready features like wide doorways and easy-access bathrooms.
Can I Have Guests? Of Course
It’s your house, your home, so of course family, including grandkids, and friends can stay.
You can cook, garden, decorate, and enjoy your space the way you always have.
Our villas include office/study nooks, and many also come with double garages or extra storage.
There’s even parking for boats and campervans.

Close to Medical Support
There are medical centres in Paeroa, and we regularly check whether they’re accepting new patients. As at 21 October 2025, two nearby clinics are open to new enrolments.
Thames Hospital is under 30 minutes away, and Waikato Hospital in Hamilton is just over an hour by car.
Fixed Fees. No Hidden Costs
Weekly village fees are currently $149. If you’re both over 75, they stay fixed for life.
That covers exterior maintenance, rates, gardens, house insurance, and the amenities already here and future amenities.
You’ll also pay less on power. Longridge buys electricity in bulk and passes the savings on.
Paeroa Isn’t the Middle of Nowhere. It’s the Middle of Everything
Longridge is just 90 minutes from central Auckland, and an hour to both Tauranga and Hamilton. You’re close to family and friends without being stuck in traffic.
Even better, you’re surrounded by nature.Walks in the Karangahake Gorge. Beach days in Waihi. Coffee at the local cafés.The Hauraki Rail Trail’s right on your doorstep.
Read more about what’s nearby, you’ll be surprised.
It’s Not for Everyone. But It Might Be Exactly Right for You
If you’re curious, come and have a look around. Talk to the residents and our team.
You might not be the retirement village type, but you might be the Longridge type.
Longridge isn’t what people expect. That’s exactly why they like it.
Come see it for yourself.
